Test/Quiz Policy

Quizzes:

Quizzes are worth 40% of the final grade. Each chapter in the textbook is divided up into three or four sections, with a quiz after each section. There is a review page in the book entitled "Ready To Go On."

Tests:

Tests are worth 40% of the final grade. All students will be required to complete a test after every chapter. At the end of each chapter, there is a review that covers everything taught in class.

Quizzes/Tests:

There are also review quizzes/tests available online to help students prepare. Parents should expect children to bring home their quizzes/tests regularly. If a student does poorly (below a 70), that quiz/test will be sent home to be signed by the parent.

Extra Point Policy:

Any student may earn half of the lost points by simply learning from their mistakes. They may take their quiz/test and go through each problem that they got wrong. On a lined sheet of paper, there must be a sentence explaining why they got that problem wrong. They must also show all of the correct work with the correct answer. This will earn them half of the points lost. For example, if the student receives an 84 on the test, this means he/she lost 16 points. If all corrections are done the way they are supposed to be done, 8 points will be added to the 84 for a new grade of 92. WOW!! From a "B" to an "A-"!! That's awesome.

Another great way to gain points on tests/quizzes is to dress up the day of the event. If a student dresses up as if going to a wedding, that student will earn 5 points towards their final quiz/test grade. NO SNEAKERS, JEANS, FLIP FLOPS, ETC. Only the best of the best will earn points.
