Safety
The Internet can be a lot of fun,
but just like anything else, a few safety rules will make your Web Surfing a
wonderful experience.
Use the same skills you would use
in the playground or the street if a stranger begins to talk to you!
Here are some ideas to keep you safe on the Internet
- Never use your real name on
the Internet. Screen names are fun and your school friends will know your
screen name. Never tell anyone online your real name.
- Never tell anyone online your
address or telephone number.
- Don't even tell anyone the
town you live in.
- If anyone asks you any
personal questions, just leave the chat room and go somewhere else.
- If anyone says ANYTHING that makes you uncomfortable-leave the
chat room and tell your teacher, if you are in school-or your parent, if
you are at home.
- Don't ask anyone else for any
personal information.
