Internet Safety

The Internet can be a lot of fun, but just like anything else, a few safety rules will make your Web Surfing a wonderful experience.

Use the same skills you would use in the playground or the street if a stranger begins to talk to you!

Here are some ideas to keep you safe on the Internet

1. Never use your real name on the Internet. Screen names are fun and your school friends will know your screen name. Never tell anyone online your real name.
2. Never tell anyone online your address or telephone number.
3. Don't even tell anyone the town you live in.
4. If anyone asks you any personal questions, just leave the chat room and go somewhere else.
5. If anyone says ANYTHING that makes you uncomfortable-leave the chat room and tell your teacher, if you are in school-or your parent, if you are at home.
6. Don't ask anyone else for any personal information.
