INDEPENDENT READING

Students are required to have a silent reading book with them at all times. Each night they are suppose to read and keep a reading log in which they record how many pages read and their reactions to what they have read. Every other Friday we go to our school library where students are allowed to renew, return and get a new book. While at the library students are also given the opportunity to respond to what they have read by answering assigned questions from a list located in their reading binders. They can also look at and take out a variety of other reading materials.
