character - A character is a person or animal who takes part in the action of a piece of literature.
conflict - A conflict is a struggle between two people or things.
fantasy - A fantasy is an unrealistic, imaginative story.
science-fiction - Science-fiction is imaginative literature based on scientific principles, discoveries or laws.
foreshadowing - the act of hinting at events that will happen later in a poem, story or play
theme - a central message that a story, play or poem hopes to reveal to readers -- Examples: uniqueness; self-confidence
static character - a character that does not change in a story
dynamic character - a character that does go through a change or changes in a story
major character - plays an important role in a story
minor character - plays a less important role in a story
internal conflict - a struggle that occurs within a character -- Example: fear
external conflict - a struggle that occurs between a character and an outside force such as another character, society or nature
